When sharing an appetizer with the rest of your dinner companions, the calories are automatically evenly assigned as soon as your order is placed. So when you and your two friends ask your waitress to bring you the Bloomin' Onion, each of you will receive one-third of the calories, no matter how much you actually eat. Have more than two friends? Great! Bring them along! Then continue to eat as much as you want, because the calories are going to be evenly split, even if you eat most of the sampler plate.
