... It's after 11:00pm.

So you made it through the entire day eating only carrots and lean protein and whatever else Cosmo told you to this month. But now, its 11:00 pm and there's wine and popcorn in your cupboards. Fortunately,  late night eating doesn't count towards the day's calorie total, mostly because foods eaten at this time fall into that awkward end-of-one-day/beginning-of-the-next-day period. It's impossible to assign calories in this confusing time- should you add them to the sum total of what you already ate today? Should you deduct them from your calorie allotment for tomorrow? It's impossible to know! Therefore, these calories can count towards neither day's calorie total. Go ahead, have a second glass!
