... You're eating off of your boyfriend's (or significant other's) plate.

Calories are automatically assigned once food touches your plate. That means that the calories in anything on your plate, if eaten, are yours. While this might sound like a bad thing, it is very useful when stealing bites from your boyfriend's dinner. Any calories on his plate are going to go to him, NO MATTER WHAT. Same goes for bites stolen from your mom's/sister's/friend's meal. Those are their calories, even if it was YOU who ate all of their french fries because the salad you ordered wasn't enough. Their french fries- their calories. Period.

It is important to remember that this is a universal calorie law, so be sure to plan accordingly. Ordering a salad or a sandwich with grapes on the side? Go ahead and share with your dinner companions. Those fruit calories will go to you, but who cares!? Healthy food has no calories anyway. However, beware of ordering the three cheese garlic bread and onion rings. No matter how many you offer up to your friends, those calories are going to you. That's why it's always best to order healthy, then steal from other people. No calories at all!

If you can't resist the 4,000 calorie pasta with cheesecake on the side, just remember not to share. If those calories are going to you anyway, you might as well enjoy them yourself!
